'A Brush with Kindness' - Habitat for Humanity Project

Jobs, kids, families, life - sometimes home maintenance becomes the bottom of a never ending to-do list.

We are proud to have worked with Habitat for Humanity on their ‘A Brush with Kindness’ programme last week which gave us the opportunity to go into a family’s home and ensure that essential repairs and maintenance could be carried out.

Habitat for Humanity New Zealand is a not-for-profit organisation that works in partnership with people of goodwill and families in housing need, to eliminate sub-standard housing. Habitat’s home repair programme ‘A Brush With Kindness’, helps low income families get back on track with their home maintenance. For affordable repayments to the home owner, Habitat carries out most urgent home repair projects, such as fixing a leaky roof, painting the outside or renovating a bathroom or kitchen. Contributing to organisations and projects such as these are at the core of Buildtech’s values and allows us to practically serve with humility, to make a positive difference and impact peoples lives.

The family has been living in this home for 31 years so it was important for us to help and support them to ensure their home was secure, safe, warm, weathertight and a healthy environment for them to live in for years to come. The whole process resulted in a truly phenomenal transformation and special thank you to Plumbfast, Chamlang, Wright Wire, Cranfield Glass, A Woman's Touch, Next Dore, Niagara and Dulux for joining us for this project.
