Buildtech Holdings is unique family business with a proud Canterbury heritage.

Buildtech aims to bring a unique, refreshing approach to Christchurch construction. We believe that the latest technologies combined with good old fashioned service and the pursuit of excellence in everything we do, will produce a better result, every time, guaranteed.

As a family owned and run company we believe strongly in the power of individuals united with a common goal working together as a team. We are proud of who we are and what we do. We have a team of over 100 tradespeople who are eager to assist you on your next project. Together, we are building Canterbury.

John MullhollandGroup Operations Manager
John oversees Buildtech’s Commercial operations, and like Buildtech is Canterbury born and raised. John is an LBP who has been in the construction industry for thirty five years with a solid trade back-round along with many years in both contract and project management. When it comes to commercial building John has been actively involved in all facets, including Shop and bar fittouts, Commercial alterations, Multi level new builds, Earthquake strengthening, High density Residential, Warehouse and Office Complexes, and so much more. Working in conjunction with some of the country’s leading architects John and the Buildtech Commercial team can provide a full design build service.

Phil CooperSales & Marketing Director
Phil Cooper began his working career as a qualified builder and cabinet maker. He then went on to run one of New Zealand’s largest and most successful water bed manufacturers. Phil brings a wealth of both construction and business expertise having built and run many businesses in both Australia and New Zealand. He has project managed large multi-million petroleum contracts across Australia, which involved the rebranding of over 200 fuel stations for some of the country’s largest petroleum companies. Phil has over 30 years business experience. Phil oversees the sales and marketing areas of Buildtech.

Israel CooperDirector
A specialist in finance, business economics and corporate strategy, Israel joined Buildtech with his father after completing a transformational role as CFO of Rex Bionics, the worlds first robotic exoskeleton device for people in wheelchairs. Prior to Rex Bionics Israel served as Director of Finance for global software company, Massive Software. Israel also spent five years as a finance and corporate strategy specialist at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he led the firm’s NZ Media & Entertainment practice. Israel has a Bachelor of both Business Management in Marketing & Economics and of Commerce with Honours, Israel is a full member of CPA Australia, previously sitting on the CPA New Zealand Council and is on the Board at Parachute Music, which orchestrates one of the largest music festivals in the Southern Hemisphere. Israel oversees the financial and administration areas of Buildtech.

Faith Harrison -Director
Faith is a sister of Phil Cooper and mother of 9 children and is actively involved in the running of a successful basketball programme at Middleton Grange School. She also heads up the Gators basketball club, and has been a board member of Canterbury Basketball and the team manager for many years. Faith also worked for 2 years at setting up a Head of Sport position at Middleton Grange School. Faith works alongside her brother Phil as a director Simply Betters Signs in Christchurch. Faith’s passions lie in the area people development, and she focuses on bringing out the best in Buildtech’s staff and contractors. Faith oversees the HR areas of Buildtech.

Martin Potts -Business Development Manager
As operations Manager, Martin brings to the company over 30 years experience within the construction industry. As a successful building company owner Martin is well prepared for wearing the multiple hats required of him. He has experience in a wide range of projects, from small renovations to large multimillion dollar residential homes, commercial building projects, earthquake repairs and rebuilds. Martin is Christchurch born and breed and well supported by his loving wife and family of 2 boys and 2 girls. He loves working in the city that has given him incredible opportunities to learn and grow, and relishes being able to give something back to the city by way of rebuilding it to bring it back to it's former glory and prosperity.

Ramon DomenechQuantity Surveyor
Ramon travelled from his hometown Barcelona to Christchurch on April 2011, with the intention of discovering New Zealand by visiting the islands for more than six months. Impressed by the beauty of this country, its people and touched by the situation of Christchurch, he decided to settle in the city and to participate to its reconstruction. Having a degree in Construction Engineering and twelve years experience on Residential, Commercial and Industrial multimillion projects as Quantity Surveyor-Project Manager, Ramon joined the Builthech team as part of the pricing department, contributing with his strong skills and technical knowledge about construction.

Judy van DongenOffice/Accounts Manager
Joining a rapidly growing family operated construction company is familiar territory for Judy. While starting her earlier years in government administration, she soon sought fresh challenge & relocated into her father’s sheetmetal manufacturing firm, running the administration & then working for 13 years with the national company that purchased the business (now known as Cowley Aquaheat). Her focus then shifted to another family operated business (Petrotec Services Ltd) and she managed the administration for the company for 4 years as it quickly expanded to meet market demand. Having recognised the unique opportunity within Buildtech Holdings Ltd to give back to her local community, Judy has come on board at Buildtech to manage the administration for our busy & productive team.

Margaret HooperProject Administrator
Being trained in the Aconex project management system, Margaret oversees project administration for the company. Having been born and raised in Christchurch she was keen to be part of the rebuild. Margaret works closely with Judy in the Buildtech office and brings a wealth of administration and project management knowledge to the business. Margaret has had a varied background from starting her career with Trust Bank Canterbury, PGG, Vehicle Retailing & Marketing, to the Electricity industry. Margaret and her husband have raised two daughters and now relishes the challenge of helping with two grandchildren.
